Welcome to one of the oldest Railway Workshop in India
 
Kanchrapara Workshop was set up in the year 1863 by the then Eastern Bengal Railway as a Combined Workshop for repairs to Steam Locomotives, Wooden-bodied Carriage and Wagons.
 
Beside being the Heritage Workshop of Indian Railways, Kanchrapara Workshop has dealt with all classes of Rolling Stocks of Electric Traction and it has been in forefront of undertaking major development works connected with AC Traction Rolling Stock.
 
At present the Loco Complex mainly deals with repair and overhead of Electric Locomotives and EMU Motor Coaches and the Carriage Complex deals with POH of Electric Multiple Units, No, AC BG, NG Conventional Coaches, Art Vans and 8 wheeler Tower Cars.
